Torque limiting couplings available from jbj Techniques Limited

Assembly and Function At assembly the bushing ➌ and a friction disc ➋ will be put first onto the hub ➊. Next the driven part (sprocket, belt pulley or in couplings a flange) will be put onto the bushing. It must be observed that at least half the thickness of the friction disc is left on the bushing to permit enough support for the second friction disc and room for wear. After this the pressure ring ➍ , the disc spring ➎, the safety disc ➏ and the adjustment nut ➐ with adjustment screws ➑ will be assembled. After the torque has been adjusted the installed driven part will slip when overload occurs. Attention:All parts of the torque limiter, especially the driven part must be absolutely free of fat and oil. CentringBushing A bronze centring bush is used for ease of movement and good wear properties. All the Delta DA range of torque limiters are equipped with the longest possible glide bushing. Shorter bushings for shorter driven parts must be specially ordered or cut to length correspondingly. The calculation of bushing length is as follows: Length of bushing = 1.5 x S 1 + b 1 (see dimensions) Example DELTATorque Limiter DA3 Width of driven part for example b1 = 12mm Friction disc thickness S1 = 4mm 1.5 x 4 + 12 = 18mm lenght of bushing (Z-Bu) If no width of driven part is given when ordered, bushing will be supplied inmaximum length.
